How do I become a member?
You may sign-up online through our national website (www.nbmbaa.org). Click the JOIN NOWbutton.
We no longer accept membership forms.
How do I renew my membership?
You may renew by logging in to your member portal and clicking Renew Membership
How much does it cost to become a member? Renewal rates are the same.
Professional: $150 per year
Must hold Master’s or other advanced degree

Associate: $150 per year
No degree requirement

Student: $75 per year
Must be enrolled in a college or university
Do I have to join a Chapter to become a member?
No, you may join as a Member-at-Large.
Member-at-large is the last option in the pull-down.< menu.
When does my membership expire?
Membership runs consecutive for 12 months against the date you join. You may retrieve your membership expiration date by logging in to the member portal.
Which documents are accepted to verify my student status?
Letter from the registrar acknowledging your current enrollment status
Copy of your tuition bill
Class schedule reflecting your current enrollment
Acceptance letters are accepted only upon special request.
Do I need to renew my membership if I am a student member who has graduated?
No, your student membership is active until your expiration date.
These individuals may also register at the Student Conference registration rate.
Why hasn’t my Chapter reached out to me?
The national office can assist you with obtaining your membership information, however, each Chapter has their own unique member onboarding process. Each of our 46 chapters has a dedicated website that can be accessed through our homepage by clicking Find a Chapter.
What is my username?
Your username is the e-mail address you used to enroll.

You may retrieve your username by clicking “Forgot My Username” under the Membership Login fields.

If that doesn't resolve the issue please e-mail to membership@nbmbaa.org to receive username.

How do I retrieve my password?
You may retrieve your password by clicking “Forgot My Password” under the Membership Login fields.
What is my membership ID?
You may retrieve your membership ID by logging in to your member portal.
Can you send me another membership ID card?
You may print your membership ID card by logging in to your member portal.
We stopped sending membership cards three years ago.
Why was my credit card charged twice (or more times)?
Send an e-mail to membership@nbmbaa.org to receive a refund form.
Same process for general refunds.

You may print your membership receipt by logging in to your member portal.
Why haven’t I received my Black Enterprise magazine subscription?
Send an e-mail to membership@nbmbaa.org with their most up-to-date mailing address.

How long is the approval process to become a member?
It is an immediate approval process. You will be send a membership confirmation e-mail that will include your member ID and login information.
How long do I need to be a member to register at the member rate?
The one year membership requirement no longer applies.

Member discount for Career Fair registration ends Monday June 30th.

Member discount for Full registration is available through September.
