NBMBAA is a non-profit organization dedicated to leading in the creation and development of economic and intellectual wealth for black communities on a global basis. Established as a national organization in 1970, our membership is comprised of over 6,000 African-American business professionals, MBA students, and entrepreneurs located in 42 U.S. chapters and one international affiliate.

With more than 300 corporate partners, the National Black MBA Association has inroads into a wide range of industries as well as the public and private sector and is an excellent resource for black business professionals.

President's Corner:

Happy New Year!

I would like to officially welcome you to the Detroit Chapter of the National Black MBA Association website.  I am excited and optimistic about our chapter's activities and programs for the New Year.

Our goals for the year are to engage membership, corporate partners, and students by providing activities that bring interest and value to our membership and community.

Life is about growth. There are many appealing events planned for 2009 that will enlighten and elevate your life. Be sure to review our calendar of events each month and come out to support our activities.

I want to challenge our membership to step up, get involved, and participate in programs and events with the NBMBAA.  You are encouraged to join a committee, attend an event once a month, discover and enhance your potential at an entrepreneurial workshop, or participate and give back at the Annual Awards Banquet that provides scholarship assistance to students. The Executive Board will have many activities that support our members' wide range of interest.

As President, my vision is to lead the Detroit Chapter to the next level by creating meaningful activities, increasing membership and participation, while developing educational programs that inform the African-American Community on how to build, accumulate and sustain economic and intellectual wealth.  I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working with you all.

Thank you again for visiting our website. We hope you find it informative and insightful.

Sincerely,

Steven S. Suber
