The NBMBAA® Undergraduate Scholarship Program awards students who are currently enrolled in an accredited university. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, exceptional leadership potential and be actively involved in their communities through service to others. Click here to begin the application process.

Applicants must:

  • Be a minority student
  • Be enrolled in a undergraduate program at a four-year U.S. AACSB accredited institution
    as a full-time or part-time undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior
  • Have a 3.0 or better Grade Point Average
  • Provide a letter of recommendation (Cannot be a family member)
  • Provide a headshot
  • Be a citizen or resident of the United States
  • You must be at least 18 years old to apply

Recipients receive:

  • Scholarship awards up to $5,000
  • NBMBAA® student membership for one (1) year

Additionally some recipients may receive:

  • Round-trip airfare & housing to the NBMBAA® Annual Conference & Exposition
  • Complimentary conference registration
  • Access to receptions and events at the conference

Recipients are required to:

  • Agree to participate in limited public relations activities
  • Share their story

Application materials:

ESSAY:
Essays must be submitted online. Paper applications will not be accepted.

Complete a 500 word essay on the following topic:

A growing number of colleges are taking innovative measures to attract more students such as (1) cutting tuition; (2) speeding up the rate at which they graduate; and/or (3) offering three-year degree programs. Discuss the pros and cons of compressing the requirements of four-year degrees into a three-year time span. How might this impact the future work force? How might this effect business school enrollment and graduation? What are the pros and cons for Business and business schools?

To accommodate for a blind review by our evaluators, please DO NOT include your name in the essay. Including your name will result in immediate disqualification.

RESUME:
Resumes must be submitted through our online process only. Resumes must not exceed 2 pages.

TRANSCRIPT(S):
Transcripts are required for all college coursework (grade reports are not acceptable).

An unofficial transcript will be accepted when submitting your online application. Online transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours earned for each course, and the term in which each course was taken.

Applicants who advance to the next phase will be required to submit official transcripts. Transcripts must be received stamped and sealed (no photocopies, computer printouts or faxes will accepted).

PHOTOGRAPHS:
Submit a professional looking headshot in jpg. The image should be at least 1024x768.

Applicants are responsible for submitting all required information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by members of the NBMBAA® Scholarship Committee.
