The NBMBAA® Collegiate Chapter Scholarship Program awards students who are members of our student chapters.  Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, exceptional leadership potential and be actively involved in their chapters and local communities through service to others. 

The 2011 Collegiate Chapter Scholarship Application is now closed


Applicants must:
  • be a active member of an official NBMBAA Collegiate Chapter
  • be a current financial member of NBMBAA. (If your membership has expired renew now
  • be enrolled in a undergraduate program at a four-year U.S. institution as a full-time (12 semester hours or equivalent), undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior 

Recipients receive:

  • Scholarship awards up to $5,000
  • NBMBAA® membership for one (1) year

Additionally some recipients will receive:

  • Round-trip airfare & housing to the Annual Conference & Exposition
  • Complimentary conference registration
  • Special VIP access to receptions and events at the conference

Application materials:

ESSAY:
Essays must be submitted through our online process only. Paper applications will not be accepted.
Complete a 500 word essay on the following topic:

How will pursuing a graduate business education serve as a catalyst for change for the Black community? Also, analyze the impact that it may have on your personal life.

To accommodate for a blind review by our evaluators, please do not include your name in the essay.  Including your name in the essay will result in disqualification.  

RESUME:
Resumes must be submitted through our online process only. Resumes must not exceed 2 pages.

TRANSCRIPT(S):
Transcripts are required for all college coursework (grade reports are not acceptable). 

An unofficial transcript will be accepted when submitting your online application.  Online transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours earned for each course, and the term in which each course was taken.

Applicants who advance to the next phase will be required to submit official transcripts.   Transcripts must be received stamped and sealed (no photocopies, computer printouts or faxes will accepted). 

PHOTOGRAPHS:
Submit a headshot in jpg. The image should be at least 1024x768.


Applicants are responsible for submitting all required information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by members of the NBMBAA Scholarship Committee.
